SEO Director – Remote

Job Summary

The main responsibilities of the SEO Director will be responsible for owning Nectr’s organic search programs inclusive of SEO and search-driven content strategies for our clients. The candidate will be responsible for handling multiple projects and clients.

The person in this role will work directly with our CEO & Founder. As a start-up, there is ample growth opportunity to work with the team and get hands-on experience building a company. 

SEO strategy and analysis:

  • Develop and execute tailored on-page and off-page SEO strategies aligned with clients' unique goals and business KPIs

  • Analyze site performance and leverage SEO tools to extract meaningful insights and develop data-driven recommendations to drive positive outcomes

Client management and communication:

  • Create and deliver comprehensive, flawless reporting, including recommendations, and review with clients to showcase results and provide actionable insights

  • Manage and maintain positive relationships with clients and contractors, ensuring clear communication about SEO strategies, tactics, deliverables, and performance

  • Lead client calls, take notes, create action plans, and communicate updates proactively and effectively

  • Empathetic and able to understand and anticipate clients' needs and preferences, building and maintaining authentic relationships

  • Proactive in identifying and recommending upsell opportunities to clients

Project management and leadership

  • Provide regular, ongoing status reports detailing the status of projects, bottlenecks, and support needed to keep clients informed and engaged

  • Effectively project manage and delegate tasks to internal team members and contractors to ensure timely and successful project delivery

  • Review and provide feedback on junior team members work for client value, accuracy, and presentation to ensure high-quality deliverables

Continuous learning and improvement:

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, especially AI and supporting technologies and communicate these trends to clients and internally to drive continuous improvement

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Has at least 4 years of experience managing successful SEO programs, preferably in an agency setting.

  • Actively managed and owned client accounts with a budget of at least $10k per month and worked with clients with over $10M in annual revenue

  • Developed an understanding of different corporate cultures, including funded start-ups and enterprise organizations

  • Built and executed successful SEO strategies over a period of at least one year, resulting in significant improvements in client performance

Skills:

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with constantly shifting priorities while maintaining a positive attitude and strong project management and organization skills.

  • Strong understanding of current SEO best practices, including search engine ranking factors, including on-page and off-page, intermediate marketing principles, basic HTML, and technical SEO considerations.

  • Experience using analytics and SEO industry tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Botify, SEMRush, Ahrefs, STAT, and/or similar tools to analyze data and derive actionable insights.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, internal teams, and contractors, and a passion for delivering exceptional results.

  • Demonstrated experience using project management tools such as Asana, Monday, Notion, and others

  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks for clients, themselves, and their manager

  • Efficiency in time management, completing tasks in a timely manner without overcomplicating or spending excessive time on non-essential tasks

  • Technical SEO wizard with experience creating in-depth technical SEO audits and problem-solving larger challenges

  • Experience building processes and systems and training others within these systems

  • Actively leveraging of AI / Machine learning tools relevant to SEO to improve internal processes and efficiency
